You complete the “circuit” between the limitless love of the Divine and the solid, nurturing, grounding force of the earth. These forces meet and merge within you, filling you with energy like a lightning rod during a storm.
There is NO reversed aspect to this Rune. This rune stands for
wholeness, a sense of well being that is founded in the Suns' energy.
It assures the path towards self realization and completeness of mind,
body and spirit are well underway, if not nearing completion. A
pathway you will recognize and follow not from direction without, but
from certain knowledge at the core of your individuality.
it should be noted here that in many cases, that which you are
striving to become, is in actuality that which you already are. You are
your own person.

Peace
by the renowned Sioux Holy Man, Black Elk:
"The first peace, which is the most important, is that which
comes within the souls of the people when they realize their relationship,
their oneness with the Universe and all its powers,
and when they realize that at the center of the universe
dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere,
it is within each of us

Card for the Weekend - Drum - White Eagle Medicine Cards
Energy, Rhythm & Movement
Drum tells us to get in touch with our feelings and to join in the rhythm and harmony of life. Drum brings energy and movement. It is the heartbeat of Mother Earth, the pulse of life and the primal rhythm. The first sound a child becomes aware of in the womb is its mothers heartbeat.
As you grow in understanding and wisdom, you are learning to listen to and feel the patterns and vibrations of energy both around and within you.
Thought patterns are vibrations the rhythm of the breath, the blood, all is flow, movvement and pulsation. All forms of creation emit their unique sound and energy pattern. You are learning to sense these patterns. This is the way that other life forms communicate with you, tell you of their nature and their experience during their time on Mother Earth. You are in the reality of being all one family.
Drum is the shamans spirit horse. This steed will take you into realms of altered states especially with rapid drumming at four to seven beats per second thereby altering brain waves and enabling you to access other dimensions of reality.
The drum echoes our heart beats and indigenous people use the drum to open the heart and bring healing.
Drum takes you beyond the tight control of the rational mind to reach the ecstatic, instinctual parts of yourself that are seldom heard or allowed to express themselves. Drum and dance can be a profound prayer involving the whole being.
Drum teaches us to find our own vibration - the quality of sound heard in the voice of people who speak from the heart, a sound of fearlessness, truth, openess and warmth. Sing! find your heartsong: it may rise wordless from deep inner place of joy. Elders hearts are always at peace they constantly bless the gifts of life.

Rune of the Week Uruz
Uruz (pronounced oo-rooz) is the U rune and comes from an early Northern Eurpoean letter script which later came to be associated with magic and divination. Its divinatory meaning is linked with the word's origin and Norse mythology. It's used to attract good health, manifestation and also during times when strength of mind, body and spirit are called for.
The Wild Ox in Norse Myth
The aurochs was the ancestor of the wild ox. The first aurochs named Audhumla played a large part in Norse creation myths. Before the earth was created, there were worlds of fire and ice. In the meeting of these two worlds sprung forth Audhumla out of the melting ice. In Gods and Myths of Northern Europe, H.R. Ellis Davidson relates one myth in which Audhumla sustained Ymir, another creature who came forth from the ice. He suckled her milk to survive and was the giant from whose left arm was formed the first man and woman.
Magical and Divinatory Uses of Uruz
Due to the association with Audhumla and creation, uruz is commonly considered a rune of growth, virility, and the ability to shape one's own reality. As the ancient auruchs helped bring forth the creators of humankind and the world, so to does uruz unearth latent potential.
When uruz is drawn in a reading, it can signal a time of manifestation. It might also indicate the health of the querant either good or ill depending on its position to other runes.

Tree Medicine and Magic - The Birch
The auruchs was an animal of great size and strength. Meditating on the rune symbol or carrying the rune as a talisman are ways to draw on the strength of uruz. A simple talisman can be made by drawing the symbol on paper, carving it in wood or painting it on stone while intently focusing on the talisman's purpose. On a personal level, working with uruz increases self-awareness of what strengths and weaknesses are brought to any given situation.

to have a reunion with other creatures that share the earth with you. Listen to all our relations and cut the I'm the only one refrain out of your thoughts.

The Ankerwycke Yew
The Ankerwycke Yew in Runnymede is absolutely stunning. Surprisingly its quite a
small tree but huge in its girth. I've walked this place so many times and always
felt its magic but had no idea it was so old or that the area was so rich in
history. I've just been reading about it and thought I would share it with you.
Ankerwycke Yew
The Ankerwycke Yew is an ancient yew tree close to the ruins of St Mary's Priory, the site of a Benedictine nunnery built in the 12th century. It is near Wraysbury in Berkshire, England. It is a male tree with a girth of 8 metres (26 ft)[1]. It is said that an Austin Mini would be completely hidden from view if parked behind the trunk. Various estimates have put its age at between 2,000 and 2,500 years.
On the opposite bank of the River Thames are the meadows of Runnymede.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
www.wraysbury.net)
Historians agree that Runnymede was a special meeting place said to be called the meadow of the Runes, or magical charms, the field of mystery, and the field of council" (Gordon Gyll, History of Wraysbury, 1861). In Saxon times it was known as Rune-mede, implying a place of council where, originally, the runes would have been consulted and runes at that time had deep associations with yew trees.

White Eagle Medicine Wheel Cards 7/1/11
DOLPHIN
Dolphin is the one sea creature that enjoys interacting with humans. People who swim with dolphins experience profound feelings of love. Living in shoals of up to 100, dolphins awareness of each other includes the presence of 'midwives' surrounding and assisting the mother with birth. Dolphin also cares for its sick by supporting them to the surface when they need to breathe. when searching for food Dolphin uses ultrasound vibrations as a guide. It communicates through clicks, whistles, grunts, and body language. Each dolphin has its own personal whistle.
Dolphin can hold its breath for long periods. Native people say that Dolphins first medicine is the gift of breath, the breath of spirit and the breath of life. Dolphin shows us how to breathe in the life force enlivening every cell. Breath is the carrier of consciousness and healing. We can breathe in healing energy to reach any part of ourselves in need of help and by breathing out we can cleanse our system and release negative emotions.
Rhythmic breathing is the ideal way to enter into meditation and into other realms such as the dreamtime. The Dreamtime reminds us of ancient wisdom and the mysteries of the great oceans. We were once part of these oceans and we can return to that deep instinctual part of ourselves with Dolphins magic.
Dolphins are also the teachers of music and sound. Theirs is the original tongue, patterns of sound which became our means of communication. Dolphin is the messenger of the Dreamtime and communicates to us a the deepest level.
Dolphins message
Dolphin says that you have discovered how to live your life by the natural tides and patterns of events and that you can surrender to the ebb and flow of the oceans of life. In harmony with all. You know how to listen to and understand the subtle messages from the environment.
Dolphin affirms your ability to live with an open heart, the life force of the Great Spirit flows through you so remember to contact the wisdom available to you through the dreamtime.
Dolphin breath can carry you to the primordial world of the great oceans to underground caverns and perhaps memories of your own beginnings.
